Please Help Protect Your Home
Dear Resident,
We would like to make you aware that there has been a slight increase in burglary offences within the local area in recent weeks. In a number of incidents, offenders have gained access through unsecured doors and open windows.
To help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime, we would ask all residents to take the following precautions:
Ensure all doors and windows are closed and locked when leaving your property, even for a short period.
Avoid leaving ground-floor windows open when rooms are unattended or during the night.
Remove keys from doors and keep them out of sight and away from letterboxes.
Secure sheds, garages, and outbuildings where possible.
Consider using timer switches on lights when away from home.
Report any suspicious behaviour or unknown individuals acting unusually in your neighbourhood.
Opportunist burglars often target properties that appear insecure or easy to access. Taking a few simple security measures can significantly reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim.
We encourage residents to remain vigilant and look out for one another. If you witness any suspicious activity, please report it to the police via 101, or 999 in an emergency where a crime is in progress.
